I thought that the original icon that came with Python was ugly so I created a new one. Created from the Python team svg with a clear background. Who would I give this to: package maintainers, python devs, or a sharing site like devianart. First one is old ugly second is new one. The brown background is my desktop not the actual icon.

Good work (aside)
Why don't just use the official svg?

Didn't know about that website. Google search didn't show that site. Good experience anyways. That was my first time making an icon.

Be careful: icon design is one of the most addictive drugs in the planet. You have been warned. :)

I agree, the one that comes standard in Ubuntu is fugly. It looks like somebody did a poor job of clipping it from a white background.
Yours is much better, looks a little too dark though.

Oh, no! I've created 20 already and I have an urge to create gnome and conky themes.

It looks dark because of the background. Here it is with transparent background and white.
