Open with menu clean up

Hello!
Does anyone knows how to clean up "open with" dialog window? I have there items multiple times. [see attached picture]

I believe it's only some xml file editing/cleaning... Can anyone help me? (gnome btw)

I think that after help from gnome-guy, we have found a workaround. *Renaming your ~/.local/share/applications folder removed the duplicates. I don't know yet what will happen after logout, though :-)

Another directory is in /usr/share/applications -- should be the one, which displays everything.
