What is your favorite tea?

In my case i would have to say Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger.

I have heard that teas have much better quality in countries other than USA.

I like a variety of black teas. Earl Grey is good. I usually take it with milk.

I have to say, though, it seems to me that the Chinese specialize in tea. They have special roasting techniques, special drying techniques, special trimming techniques, special harvesting techniques, etc. They take tea to an art form.

Earl Grey (I think I'll have some now that I'm thinking of it)

Green Tea

These are probably my 3 favotite, though they aren't in any particular order. It just depends on what I'm in the mood for.

No offense intended to Captain Picard's loyal followers, but Earl Grey (hot or otherwise) just isn't my cup of tea.

One of life's paradoxes is that I like my coffee black and my tea white. (Yes I drink tea every now and again.)

Mine is Constant Comment made by Bigelow. I've always drank it hot, but it include directions to make iced tea with it.
It flavored with orange rind, and misc. other stuff. Based on black tea.

HK-style milk tea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong-style_milk_tea)

Sugary, smooth, and thick. Whether hot or cold (I like it cold) it is incredibly addicting.

Straight, don't get why people put milk in their tea ><

Some of the tea bags we get hold of here in the Lisati household are fairly cheap and nasty, and the brew goes down a lot better if softened with milk.

Question...

In 'the South' (US), tea generally comes in two varieties; sweet tea, and unsweet tea. This is tea that is sweetened with sugar, and is defaulted with ice (unless they specify otherwise). We even have a rare third variety called "half sweet, half unsweet," which actually means they prefer their tea with fresh mucus.

Out west and up north, people give me very confused looks when I ask for sweet tea. They say... uhh... "iced tea?" Then we're both confused. Unless the waitress has exceptional diplomatic skills, a compromise of "coke" is usually agreed upon.

I've even tried saying... iced tea, with sugar in it. However, the confusion persists.

Is iced tea defaulted sweet, just as sweet tea here is defaulted with ice? Or, is it just straight tea with ice?

Grew up in Georgia. Know exactly what you mean about the "sweet tea". We used to make it in a large roast pan and add cups of sugar. Now I drink it straight with no sugar. Guess I was lucky not to have sugar running in the veins.;)
So, I like the iced tea when having dinner or lunch but I like a nice cup of hot White Tea for breakfast or when relaxing. What can I say?

At frazzoli's you can get unweetened or sweetened tea. That's how the machine is labeled, and they are both iced. Southern ohio is my location. Here iced tea is assumed to be sweet, unless otherwise noted, but sweet tea is also used commonly to refer to it.
