Is the screen completely black or it has some message/text/command prompt, like "sh: grub>" for example?

Screen completely goes black after showing white small ubuntu logo with no message, I guess grub doesn't find ubuntu.
Sorry for late response.

It sounds like you're getting the Ubuntu 9.10 boot screen, which almost always shows up, then Ubuntu tries to run your video card but can't.

If you can't see what's going on it's hard to fix. I know I'm intimidated by the idea of knocking around in Xorg or whatever it is that 9.10 uses now.

Do you have a CRT monitor laying around? CRT's will almost always show you SOMETHING, even if it's 640X480, whereas an LCD panel will just quit.

Can you tell us what's running your video? What card and/or chipset?

I am using LCD. I will let you know about the video/ graphics and chipset during my next login.
