I prefer to non-smoothed fonts and darker background, so I set up those in gnome appearance settings. However, when I log in to the tiling windows manager xmonad, the font and color settings are not respected. I know I can get the settings back by running the gnome appearance settings, but that's awkward. I guess those settings are not controlled by the window manger, but by X itself. My question is what files are in control of those settings?
