hi, I used a windows utility to make a ubuntu usb. I was booted into it at the time, so I didn't use the ubuntu one.

I was not presented with the familiar boot screen I get normally but what bugs me most is the file structure. There are roughly 6 folders, and 6 files in the root of the drive.

Is this similar to what the ubuntu usb installer would have done? or would it be neater? (like \ubuntu\*.* or similar). I need the drive working to fix my friends computer, so hesitant to mess with anything thats working right now.. But if I used the ubuntu tool would it do what I want? -- would it also give me the default bootscreen (with the keymap, language, and other boot options)?

BTW, I'm using xbuntu v9.10 cd and my thumbdrive is sandisk cruzer 4gb

Thanks
