How to make an Ubuntu boot USB stick using a Mac

I've got two Asus EEpc which I'm trying to upgrade to Netbook Remix ubuntu 9.1

Both are now locked up with problems. I need to format a USB stick to use as an Ubuntu boot.

I'm now down to my Apple Mac.

Can anyone advise how I could format a USB stick with Ubuntu using the Mac? Thanks.
