I suppose I should be ashamed, but I've spent two hours trying to compile mc with Samba support, and honestly, I'm just not up to it -- or rather, I might be, but I just haven't got the time. if someone happens to have a .deb package that would install it on Intrepid I would be really happy.
alternatively if others want to try to make me feel dumb or shameless that I'm not good at compiling, go ahead and have at it, but though I think it would probably be kind of fun, I really just have too many things to do.
