Hi, I've found one or two posts about something similar to this but nothing is working. Most people are looking at slideshows but all I want is 1 image.

Maybe I'm just inept but I'm struggling with some of Linux when it gets complicated.

All I'm looking to do is take an mp3 file [track1.mp3] and an image [image1.jpg] and make them into a video, of the sort that can be posted on youtube. The mp3 is 416secs long, the image is 640x480px, both in the same directory.

I've tried dvd-slideshow but it needs about 8 different arguments and some kind of txt file with a list of instructions of when to change images etc, I can't get it to just do what I want it to do. When I try, I just get a massive list of errors and I'm left none the wiser about what went wrong.

Is there any simple, ideally GUI-based way of doing what should be a painfully simple task? Or could someone tell me exactly what CLI command I need to use with dvd-slideshow?

Thanks for any help

Try kdenlive. just add your mp3 and then add a slideshow with only one slide.
