Hey guys,

Completely unrelated to Ubuntu. I play drums (http://www.youtube.com/user/humphreybcdrumming) and I normally use Sony in-ear headphones which came with my mp3 player - underneath earmuffs to reduce the noise of the drumkit so I can hear my music over it. My Sony headphones crapped out yesterday, the connector is broken - so I'm looking for a replacement. I can't afford full noise cancelling in ear monitors (like the ones bands use for concerts) but I would like something that reduces noise a bit more than my old sonys. If I could not use earmuffs at all that'd be even better.

I'm currently looking at:

SENNHEISER CX300-II (http://www.ifocus.co.nz/Speakers+%252526+Headphones/Earphones/Sennheiser+CX300-II+Precision+Black+Earphones.html)
SONY EX Monitor In Ear Headphones - MDREX300SLB (http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4b1f3dd40145648c273fc0a87f3b06aa/Product/View/C0760)
PHILIPS In-Ear Headphones- SHE9550 (http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4b1f3dd40145648c273fc0a87f3b06aa/Product/View/C0763)

Does anyone know much about any of these headphones?

These are a little more expensive than the Sonys but they're awesome Headphones. I don't have this model exactly. I have the SuperFi 5.EB's.

UltimateEars is probably my favorite brand of Monitors. They have a small selection, but enough of a variety to cover all price points. (The Metro-Fi's are lower-spec & Cheaper but still good monitors). The Super Fi-5 EB's which I have are like having my own personal miniature subwoofers in my head =D

I don't understand why you want in-ear cans, but to each his own.

You'll want to look into the Yuin PK3.

Okay I'll check them out - I wonder if I can get them in New Zealand though.

I use in-ear buds so I can have my earmuffs over the top. I have some Sennheiser cans which are great, but the max volume on them is far too low and the don't cancel out the environment at all, I can't hear music over the kit.

And I can't afford noise cancelling headphones.
