Hi,
I am new, and want to install a program (gLife) listed in the list of software in the gnome-app-install. But on trying to do so it says it can't cause of a conflict:
"This application conflicts with other installed software. To install glife the conflicting software must be removed first. Switch to the 'synaptic' package manager to resolve this conflict."

So I went to sourceforge, downloaded the tarball, unzipped it and tried to install it. It didn't work so I read the read me which said that the requirements are that I have libglade, autoconf, automake, and gnome-libs. I found the first three and installed them successfully I believe, but the gnome-libs I found but can't figure out how to install, I run ./configure 'ok' then make 'nothing' then make install 'nothing again'.
Is there any other thing to do to compile the gnome-libs? or easier way to go about this?

Best,
Alex
