I changed my xsplash and gdm theme.Is it possible to use animated backgrounds (like a screensaver for example)?I know it's even possible to have a cube there,but I'm not sure if it's possible to have animation there.I mean is it limited to statics? In Karmic that is.

I know you can install the xubuntu splash (firefly-like sparkles)But how you go about using one of the screensavers,say f.e fiberlamp?O something like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlCVrtgxVcI

Ok,found it,replacing background,throbbers.Still,could be usefull to know how to use a screensaver as splash.

Finally back online.There are several ways to tweak the splash and gdm.The easiest one is simply replace the background and logo jpg located in usr/share/images/xsplash.One could also replace them by a custom package on sites such as espiralx:http://espiralx.org/05-Compartir/09-Gnome.html,but they come in deb.;)
