I recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 but it does not install my cd drive. Please help?

Just to make sure that we're on the same page: are you asking for help running from the CD you just downloaded or have you actually installed Ubuntu on your computer?

Its 9.10, not 9.1. See here: https://help.ubuntu.com/9.10/about-ubuntu/C/version-numbers.html

Thanks for your reply. YesI did install ubuntu and it is working but somewhere it failed to recognize I have a cd drive. The cd drive works fine in win xp, but when I boot into ubuntu I no longer have a cd drive.

This problem has been solved by changing the jumpers on the cd drive to make it a slave drive instead of a secondary master. Thanks anyhow. :P
