I am getting updates for bind when it isn't even installed on my system. (I think. How do I check) This is on a vanilla install of Ubuntu Desktop with the lamp server added along with build essentials.

Any way my question is why is this showing up as an update? How do I remove it?

Where do I go to read about updates when they are sent out to ubuntu systems?

You can not get updates for packages witch are not installed. You can check in synaptic typing bind in search box.I donīt think it is smart to remove it,but I can be wrong.

Well the "automatic updates" are only suppose to be updates for security/upgrades correct? Why software that doesn't fall into these categories? What can I do to fix this?

How does the ubuntu group decide what and when to make updates?
