View Full Version : [ubuntu] cairo dock dysfuctionalism

I decided to try cairo dock to see if I could use it to get around my problem with gnome launchers screwing app behavior up.

Am I the only one to want to run terminal apps with this thing? Or have I missed something?

If you use "run in terminal", it uses xterm instead of gnome-terminal. I can't figure out how to change this, and unfortunately no matter what language I select, their web site comes up mostly in French, so I will not be getting an answer there.

If you just use a command "gnome-terminal -e whatever" it ignores the switch and just jumps to the nearest open terminal.

Also, it will not background itself with most windows unless I set the window fullscreen -- which not all windows can do that. This may be the WM's fault.

Looks nice, but seems totally useless...

one problem at a time, what exactly do you want to do with the launchers ?

Be sure to update the dock to the 2.1.2 version, as it fixes some bugs and makes the whole config panel much more clear.
