I just changed my OS from Windows XP SP3 to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
I'm definitely a beginner.

While using XP, I was able to switch my mic's input to stereo mix thru the volume control.
For example, I am on Yahoo Messenger and one of my friends want to hear the music that I am listening to.
I switch to stereo mix and they will be able to here my playing music instead of the mic's input.

Is there an Ubuntu equivalent of the Stereo Mix? Please help..

There is an equivalent in pavolumecontrol. Probably something to do with selecting Monitor of Internal Analogue Stereo. That is where I went to enable recording on streaming audio.
