Hello,

I am trying my darnedest to install Giver on my Hardy Heron box but so far, I have failed. I attempted the following so far:

Installing as per insrutctions in the download package (http://code.google.com/p/giver/).
Installing as per instructions (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=494198) found on Ubuntu Forums.
Installing as per instructions (http://thelinuxmovement.blogspot.com/2007/07/install-giver-easy-file-sharing-on.html) found on The Linux Movement.
Installing from the Jaunty repositories on the Jaunty ISO image (maybe that was bound to fail, but I had a clever idea that it might work)

None of these attempts have resulted in successful installation of Giver. This is disappointing because it would make it a million times easier to share files between my desktop and laptop (which is running Mint Gloria). Samba has proven to be too buggy and everything I've ready of Giver indicates it is the turnkey solution I am looking for.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Jason

Still failing...

For now I have given up but maybe someday, Giver will be mine.
