Hi,

I recently installed ubuntu 9.10. I would also like to have Kubuntu on the same install. Is it possible to have both desktop environments in the same install. If so, i have already downloaded Kubuntu 9.10 and put it on a flash drive. If this is possible, how can install Kubuntu KDE desktop with my flash drive.

Thanks,
vader95

P.S. if you can't tell, I'm new to Ubuntu, but i have use openSUSE before so that is why i believe it is possible to have both desktops.

I thinks you can, however, KDE is not very stable when combined with Ubuntu.

I think you have to install something like kde-desktop-environment package or something.

If you downloaded the Desktop CD of Kubuntu, that won't help you.

You need to install Kubuntu using the package manager (Synaptic, apt-get, aptitude), and that means you need to use either a broadband connection on your Ubuntu computer (to install directly) or a broadband connection on another computer (to download and burn the Alternate CD of Kubuntu) to install kubuntu-desktop.
