View Full Version : lost ability to logon to openldap domain controller after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.10

December 7th, 2009, 02:47 AM
had Ubuntu 8:10 with samba openldap primary domain controller. I upgraded to 9.04 and then to 9.10 using the apt-get update apt-get upgrade Apt-get dist-upgrade do-release-upgrade. I am now unable to log-on to the domain from any PC win 2000 Vista or Ecomstaton. When I try I get logon failed unknown user name or bad password.
It does at least see the domain and give me the logon window. I am able to use samba cleint and connect to see files using the same user name and password. I need to logon to the domain because this is how I control access restrictions by groups and not have to go to all ten PCs every time I need to make a change. I did have it use my conf files where they had been changed from the originals ex smb.conf I got the conf files I am using from the Ubuntu Server 7.10 OpenLDAP + SAMBA Domain Controller how to Please help me get this working again.

Thank you
