View Full Version : [ubuntu] freezing issues since upgrade to 9.10 from 9.04

I've been trying to figure out why my machine keeps freezing. From what I've read I think it might have something to do with the x server(?). My screen sometimes freezes on booting where I only have a black screen. Sometimes it freezes when active; the mouse will still show up moving on the screen but it won't respond to clicks and the screen doesn't change. After reading posts, I was able to find a few key commands that get a response (before, I just did a hard restart hitting the power button). I'm able to kill the x server (if there's something on the screen it will just go black. if it was already black, it stays black but the monitor led blinks) with the Alt/PrtScrn/K command and the machine will reboot with Alt/PrtScrn/B. Where should I try troubleshooting?
