Using OpenOffice 3.1 ( OOO310m19, Build: 9420, Core 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1 )
and Firefox 3.5.5 "Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu, canonical - 1.0."
O.O. & Karmic "Freezes" when I try to Copy & Paste from a web page.
Power Button Shut-down is only recourse. :(

ANY help would be welcomed!

PS.
1. I up-graded Novell Moonlight 1.99.9 in Firefox 3.5.5.which caused many Firefox "Crashes" & and Karmic "Freezes".
I have Disabled Moonlight and that has so far solved that problem.
I'm not sure what Moonlight does so I'll run without it.

Personally, I use the Sun version of OOo: [Ubuntu] Installing OOo on Debian and Co. (http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=68)
NB: better reset your OOo user profile (http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?p=58403#p58403) but don't transfer your personal data during the welcome process (if you had 2.x before), configuration files from the former version might corrupt the new profile.

And the Mozilla version of FF (I just have to extract it and create the corresponding shortcuts).

I am having basically the same problem. I have Karmic with all the updates as of this morning. I am running the 32-bit version.
On my computer at work, with the 64-bit version I don't seem to be having the problem.

Updated to Lucid Lynx 10.04 and Firefox 3.6.3 and problem is gone.
