I thought I would try Gnu Chess, just to see how quickly it would beat me (the outcome would never be in doubt!).
I assumed that if I moved my king two squares to the left, for a king-side castle, Gnu Chess would move the rook for me. It doesn't - the king moves, but the rook stays stock still. (I haven't attempted a queen-side castle yet.)
I did a bit of searching on this, and I don't think I'm doing anything wrong (neither king nor rook has moved, it wouldn't be moving through "check", etc.).
Any hints? Thanks!
