That depends on how I measure it :)

From grub to virtual console I get about 11 seconds (I think most of that is caused by my slow hard drive) and from grub to Openbox it's about 20 seconds or so (includes a bit of time for logging in).

If I also include the time it takes to get to grub, that adds maybe another 10 seconds (why is the BIOS so slow? :( )

From grub to tty1 takes about 15 seconds and I automatically login with mingetty. LXDE only takes a second to load. However it takes about 15 second to get to grub!

I have no idea. Definitely less than 60 seconds though.

From Grub to a useable, working GNOME desktop takes 35.34 seconds on the Acer X3200 listed in my sig. I think with a few little tweaks I will be able to get it down to sub 30.

my fastest ever has been 11 sec (power button to desktop), on my eee pc , with a very modified arch install

that was with 0 sec delay on grub , and bootboster enabled in the bios (skips alot of the bios right to grub)

Bootchart reports mine as being 22 seconds, thats from GRUB to login. Getting to a desktop takes about another 10 seconds.

My boot is around 40 to 50 seconds, from pressing the power button to everything loaded.
