I've been using Ubuntu since Feisty (7.04) in June 2007. That's over two years.

And I'll be off to check out a familiy member's XP machine which has suddenly taken to doing the BSOD trick. Probably a virus or something, so I'll be taking a custom Jaunty Live DVD with antivirius tools on it, and a memory stick with a couple of manufacturer's patches to help XP update itself without causing problems & a couple of "clean the rubbish off" programs I've made myself. (Phew, I'm sure there's a more concise way of saying that!)

If I remember right I started with Breezy the day it was released, although I may have installed Hoary a couple days before then reinstalled. (I reinstalled a lot back then for lack of a better solution :) )

I started using Linux (Slackware) in 2001. However I used Kubuntu for one year when 6.06 was released.

okay, it appears that people don't go to this area as soon as they use Ubuntu. They are probably mostly in the help areas.

Edgy was my first, but I was still using Windows a lot. Sound didn't work on my PC. Then Feisty was released, and it was really great. Everything was working well for me, and I started moving away from Windows more. Gutsy royally sucked. When Hardy was released, I stuck with it and will do so until the next LTS version is released (what is it, Laughing Larynx or something?)

I needed to record some demos and didn't want to pay ~£2000 for Cubase and a mac or decent computer. Ubuntu Studio screamed out to me. Jaunty was damn good, Ardour is the sutff, did the job well. I upgraded and I'm also very happy with Karmic :)

I played around with 5.04-6.10 but didn't get serious until 7.04. Since then its become pretty much my daily desktop OS.

I keep playing with Arch Linux and Windows 7 but I keep coming back to Ubuntu.

Off and on since October 2005. More on than off.
Ubuntu has nearly always lived up to the "just works" claim for me.

I am not keen on the way the distribution is headed with retail opportunities embedded in the default configuration (Ubuntu One, Software Store) so I am still considering whether or not to continue using Ubuntu.

I have already switched my laptop to another distribution and may switch my desktop as well.
