My issue was brought up as I tried to download Smuxi, but quickly it seemed that I could not install he package, something very similar resulted when I tried to do the same to Flash. Then I tried alternative IRC programs to the same effect. I tryed 'sudo aptitude install flash', etc as well, to no avail.

I asked someone what to do, and I was told to try to open Synaptic. I could not open synaptic, but I showed that I had it, then I had the bright idea of uninstalling synaptic and re-installing it.

It only led to more of an issue.I do not know how to get synaptic back. Lastly, I was brought up to the issue regarding multiverse that I really did not know was the issue. I was told to modify etc/apt/sources.list, and I did. But as I saved another issue was brought up that confused me for the fact that there is only a single log in on this computer.

Yeah, I am a noob at linux, but I would be a very grateful noob if I saw this issue resolved.
