Is it possible that I can forgo any complicated manual wireless network driver installations if I just wait for all updates to install to karmic.

My new laptop's wireless just doesn't work on a default install of Karmic, and at this moment I'm hoping that when the initial update completes, support for it will have been ironed out.

Should I hold my breath or am I in for an accelerated male pattern baldness episode?

Is there anything you need from Karmic?

That is what I have to do.

I connect my laptop to the Internet, via Ethernet, then install all of the updates. Restart, and my WIFI driver is available in Hardware Drivers.
