View Full Version : [ubuntu] problem maximising the windows

Hi Community,

I'm new to Ubuntu and just installed Ubuntu 9.10. No problem so far.

Only thing is that when launching my computer I get an "out of range" error message.
Then everything seems to work well but a few weird things :

Fact is that after getting that error message, the Ubuntu launch screen appears normally (the one with the progress bar while Ubuntu is launching).
Afterwards I get both menu bars at the top and bottom of the page, but the desktop is black (even if I go to Appearance menu and double-click on any wallpaper to select it).

If I run an application, the windw opens correctly but if I try to maximize it, then my whole screen gets black.

Could it be a screen resolution problem, considering both menu bars are displayed correctly and any application is appearing well until I maximize the window ?

I've gone through the previous posts on this matter but couldn't find anything helpful.

Any help would be much appreciated as I guess I'm missing some little but important detail...

Cheers,
Nneko
