I upgraded my Acer Aspire One from Jaunty to Karmic and now when I boot I get the following errors:

sreadahead main process (2480) terminated with status 1
mountall:/proc: unable to mount: Device or resource busy
mountall:/proc/self/mountinfo: No such file or directory
mountall: root filesystem isn't mounted
init: mountall main process (2481) terminated with status 1
General error mounting filesystems.
A maintenance shell will now be started.
CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and re-try
root@one:#

When I type startx I get a bunch of errors about read-only filesystem.

Any ideas how to get my Aspire One to boot normally? Or should I just give up and do a fresh install?

Have you had any success in solving this yet?

I'm am having that same kind of error since I tried to upgrade to Karmic last night. I have a system76 laptop so I'm waiting on a reply from the system76 board for help. I don't have a lot of experience with Linux so I'm not sure how to proceed.
