What is a Partial Upgrade?

When I try to update it gives me a pop-up that says something about a partial upgrade and when I click on it, it goes to the distribution upgrade box. What is it? I'm already on Karmic, and I've been on it for a while, so why is it suddenly doing this?

I got that going from Deluge 1.1.9 to Deluge 1.2 rc4. I assumed it was because it was a release candidate and not a final version. Just guessing though.

Maybe you have the torrent client set to update? Perhaps check the settings
of Deluge and Update Manager?
