Of the current generation, PS3.

-Runs/can run GNU/Linux, at least the older models can
-Has some neat exclusives, while the xbox and wii don't really have any exclusives I'd be interested in
-Doubles as a Bluray player

Yeah, this thread will never degenerate into a flame war. ;)

This poll has a lack of NES, so I'll go with the PS1. My first console.

Back when I was an ignoramus, I had a Playstation2, however now I would never use a closed gaming console. I highly suggest you all read this interview with Richard Stallman.

How dare you not include the NES?! You go to hell! You go to hell and you die!

Does that make my favourite console clear? ^_^ I'm even writing a huge blogpost at the moment about what the NES was like all over the world. Researching so many countries takes time though but so worth it.

PS3, it's just awesome. Great MW2 machine, and it's not made by Microsoft.

While I have a 360 and a PS3, I have to say that the 360 gets most of the love. Sure the PS3 has better hardware, but the controller on the 360 is more natural and Xbox Live was specifically designed for online gaming. Online gaming was an after thought on the PS3.

If my PS3 had the 360 controller and connected to Xbox live I would be happy.

That said I'm still not sure if I like Modern Warfare 2 or not anymore. Peer to Peer networks for FPS games just suck. Also infinity ward can not create a game that doesn't lag like a mofo.

Wii. Some amusing games, low power consumption, geexbox runs on it, nintendo seem to be a lot less facist about hat you do with the systems than microsoft or sony.

But I'm not that much of a console gamer so my vote counts for 1/2 the real consolers. LOL

Xbox 360. Best internet experience so far. I'd say more but it's flamebait comments ;p

I loved the PS2, but the 360 is almost perfect (it gets pretty loud). It has the best - but not necessarily exclusive - games IMO (Call of Duty, Table Tennis, Forza) and is cheaper than a PS3.

Lag in MW2?! You should try Gears of War 2, now THAT is the king of: lag, all-powerful hosts, and 2 hour waits in the lobby IMO, but I can't complain, GoW2 has awesome gameplay when you get past those problems.

As for the OP, I much prefer the Xbox 360, I love it's interface and it's controller. Plus, who doesn't love their exclusives? :)

:)

I never played GoW or GoW2 but that's mostly because I hate EPIC and anything to do with the Unreal Engine.

The LAG I have gotten today and yesterday while playing MW2 in unbelievable. Every game I join I have a horrible ping, and the people killing me aren't even registering on my screen. A few of my friends are experiencing the same thing. I know it's not my Internet connection because I can go play any other FPS and be fine.

Dreamcast because of it's ability to run homebrew without modding the hardware, at least the earlier consoles.

PlayStation 2 because it has great games.

If you bring the Atari in then I can bring in the Amiga! :)

The reason that there aren't any more in the poll is probably because 10 is the limit (from memory).

The Genesis was Awesome. And yeah NES>SNES always. That being said I own a 360 but if I could own a PS3 I would.

For now? XBox 360.

But as soon as Heavy Rain comes out, I and my PS3 will become inseparable.

wut no N64?

Of all those listed, Dreamcast. It can run NetBSD, and JetSet Radio is one of the coolest games ever.
