Hi, I'm a new in all the Linux community and I like to update to ubuntu.
Well, I don't have the last tech PC, and its pretty old(late 2005), but I cannot afford anything right now, but that another story.
I like to download a older version of ubuntu to fix my hardware:
- AMD Athlon 64Bit 3500+ Venice Core
- DDR 400Mhz 512Mb CL3 [I am trying to upgrade the memory but it doesn't go very well]

Which version of ubuntu should I install ?? [can i have a link :)]

Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit is very fast.
Ubuntu 8.04 is the "Long Term Support" release, if you want an older (but very stable) version.
You could also try Xubuntu. It uses Xfce instead of Gnome, so it is faster on some hardware.

Your hardware is not that bad (I've installed Ubuntu on Pentium 3's). You will be okay. Good luck!

I think Ubuntu 9.10 should work fine for you. You can look at the link below for minimum system requirements - especially RAM and you are well within that.
