View Full Version : [ubuntu] problem with my widescreen and resolution 1600x900

i have a big problem please i need help
i installed ubuntu before on my Dell Screen and the resolution 1024x768
and it works fine for all installing with wubi and i havenot problems with it

but when i upgrade my screen to samaung syncmaster 2043 and it's resolution is 1600x900
when i reboot from windows and go to installing i had a problem
i never see installing i just see a gray screen and i think it harmful to my screen

i turn off my screen and turn it on many times to see installing in front of me
and when i see it i see it pale and the resolution isn't good

and when installation complete and log into it i still look it in pale
i see my resolution on system>display but it is not good it looks very bad and my screen tell me that this resolution not supported

but ubuntu tell me that the resolution 1600x900 60 hertz

but it looks very bad and pale

my vga card is nvidia 6150 nforce

and my screen is samsung syncmaster 2043

and i use ubuntu 9.10 with wubi installer

i use ubuntu on vmware and it looks very good but when i use it on my pc it makes this problems with my screen

i use ubuntu with my pc but on another screen and it works very fine with Dell 1024x768

please i need help

did you install the NVIDIA driver?

Go to :

system/administration/restricted (hardware?)drivers

there should be a nvidiadriver available...
