Hi,

Yesterday I updated my 8.10 and guess what - a wonderful nosedive! Now all I get on reboot is the memtest86+ which escapes into a reboot which goes back into memtest, and so on.

I deliberately never upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 coz i thought this might be even more effort - was that a mistake?
Shouldn't the update "just work" - what did I do wrong?
How do I get out of the memtest into Ubuntu?
Should I just now do a complete fresh install of 9.10 - is it really necessary?

My Grub file reads thus...

uuid 9c11cF12-998e9-4e4b-a130-97775e812800
kernel /boot/memtest86+.bin
quiet

Thanks in advance.
Martin
