need assistance in ubuntu instaltion

hiiiiii frnds, i m gokul here..im very new to ubuntu....
so can any one help me in installing ubuntu 9.10 in my computer
i have win 7in my c drive but there is a drive which is emplty..i need help in installing in that partion....
i m having issues in mounting the partion...i have no clue what to do in that screen...
pls help me...i really want to learn ubuntu...

Do you want to install on separate hdd or just different partition on your only hdd?
