Hopefully this is the right place for this thread, but anyway I am wondering if there is software for ubuntu that can stream live TV from the internet (similar to Satellite PC Box for Windows). It's fine if its not free (I wouldn't expect it to be if it's good)

I'm running 64 bit ubuntu 9.10

TV streaming is one thing and is available from Hulu, etc. But Live TV streaming is something that the Web totally sucks at, in its current state, do not waste your time. And if you find a service to pay for it will be a rip-off operation.
I know people like the idea of TV over the web as its a shiny new object, but imo, OTA(over the air) TV is still by far the best way to do it and it is very possible to "stream" this into your computer--that's how I watch TV. You should think about that and when the next generation web comes, reconsider your original idea.
