installing Unbuntu on an xp

i am helping a friend install ubuntu on an xp machine, at the prepare disk space screen, the boot disk is there.... the slider is on the non boot disk scsi2 and on the scsi1 there is no slider and it shows that 27gb used but not labeled as windows portion. Any ideas on how to help this newbie?

It is not recognizing it as windows installation? Is the size of any partitions on drive1 correct?

it seems the windows partition was toast i reformatted it to all ext 3 and it is fine now. thanks.
