Hi
I am going to enroll for master degree in university and I am looking to select a major related to software engineering.
I found there are several majors like:

Master of Science Programme in Software Engineering
Master of science in Informatics - Specialisation: Information Engineering and Management
Software Engineering and Management
Master Program in Software Engineering

If you know about these majors, please let me know which one of them involve more action and less books ;))

I don't know about the courses you have listed.

When I did my masters I chose distributed systems and networks because computers are everywhere and connected to each other. I use the term computers to apply to numerous devices like TVs mobile phones, satellite navigation systems etc etc.

What every course you choose I expect there will be a lot of theoretical stuff to cover, so your gonna have to get reading (and not just books/journals etc - a fair bit would probably be on-line.

One thing I will say about my master's experience, compared to my bachelors, is that you are left on your own a lot more to complete given tasks etc. I was encouraged to research a lot more and work things out for myself. There was less formal teaching compared to my bachelors, but the academic staff were always available if you needed help.

Anyway, which ever path you choose, good luck with it and enjoy it.

Is there a "Computer Science" option?

Is there a "Computer Science" option?

In general Computer science is no longer a major, in and of it self. It's a field of more specialized majors. Though there are still colleges and universities that have a degree program simply called computer science, it's more a catch all field of study centered more around theory, research and development than it is about practical application.

If what you want is to dive deeper into code I would say "Master Program in Software Engineering." everything else sounds like it's for people on a executive management "corner office" type career path.

The information engineering option sounds like it would be network appropriate.

The proposed future by intel & the other big guns is a massive influx of wireless & wired networked gizmos with LOTS of video involved.

That's all I know on the topic at the mo'.

Good luck.

What is it that someone *does* with a master's degree in any of these areas? That is the 1st question. Does the master's get you access to ivory tower jobs? Better pay? etc.

Secondly what is it that you're *wanting* to do? I could say that, I heartily recommend Improv-Crumb Horn History. Just because we recommend it doesn't mean it will fit at all with what your wants and desires are.
