View Full Version : [ubuntu] System goes to sleep despite Power Management settings

Hi,

I've got a laptop running 9.04 and I've changed my Power Management setting so that it should never go to sleep on AC power. I've logged on as root and done the same. Nevertheless, the machine will still go to sleep if it's left idle.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to diagnose the source of this problem and fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Go into screensaver and turn it off. It is just blanking your screen. That is my guess. But I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not the problem. As I tried to explain in my initial post, the system is going to sleep (i.e. the low power mode), not just dimming the monitor.
