Error encountered while processing: python-chardet

I was recently trying to install Pitivi and Universal Applets from command line and both of them failed while trying to download and install the python-chardet package. While submitting a bug report I saw that someone had the same problem and they said they fixed it when they "added python3.0 and python3.1 to supported-versions where it should have been in unsupported-versions".

Does anyone know what this means and if that won't fix my problem what will?

Ok now it seems like I can't install anything, everything I try to install gives me the same error, please help!
