New install of 9.10 on AMD 64 with ATI graphics. When bootup reaches desktop no startup icons. The File Manager keeps running for a very long time without much happening. Pulldown menus and browser startup are accessible. Have tried reloading Nautilus but has not cured the problem. Can someone direct me to what files are active during this process. Also, the original install files did not load correctly. Where the top right corner normally has controls for minimize, maximize and stop there are only 3 identical circles (they all work;)) not the usual -, +, X. This was a similar problem IŽd seen years ago installing 7.10.

Did you install restricted ATI drivers? I've been seeing lots of posts about problems with Catalyst 9.10 drivers.

If that's what you have, you could either remove the restricted drivers and reinstall open source (for the time being) or go to the AMD site and get the Catalyst 9.11 drivers.
