If anyone is interested in doing this I created my first guide on the wiki on how to get recorded tv into an avi file.
DVB-T to AVI Conversion (http://help.ubuntu.com/community/Converting%20DVB-T%20streams%20to%20AVI%20files)
Please send comments and feedback if you like/dislike the guide.
Thanks

Thanks for this. The problem I have is that 9/10 of my recordings (and definitely anything off of Channel 4) cause ProjectX to crash.
It seems amazing that there is only one bit of software in the OS world that does this [when it works]. I have tried looking on projectX's forums but I only speak English (to my shame), so haven't got very far.
:-/
Thanks, though, it's good when it works...

Pity about ProjectX. It works flawlessly here in Australia. It may be that the UK uses MPEG4 compression instead of MPEG2 in some cases. Just a thought.
