I decided to see what other themes looked like. Decided to see what the Win7 2.1 pack looked like on my desktop. Looked nice but decided to go back to my dust theme.

However it was not going to be that easy apparently.

I am unable to get rid of three icons off of my desktop...they refuse to delete, it changed my UBUNTU loading screen ( I want the default back )

Can anyone help a newbie out?

Ok I found out about gconf-editor and got rid of the icons....however I am still trying to find the DEFAULT splashscreen for Ubuntu. ( I want the default one...the one with the brownish background and the spotlight over the UBUNTU word )

Have you looked in the System -> Administration -> Start-up manager -> appearance tab -> usplash theme ? The default is usplash-theme-ubuntu

Yep. It still went to a non default one. A Blue one with fireflys flying in a group in the middle in stead of the default one.
