Audacity Recording not working

I can't record voice in Audacity.

right click the volume icon and click sound preferences and make sure your mic isn't muted

also, try gnusound. I have had some problems with audacity before on voice record.

You will also probably need to unmute and possibly raise the level of "mic capture". The easiest way to do that along with all other channels is probably with
alsamixer in terminal.

Ok got it to work with the volume line beside the mic.
