Despite various warnings not to do so, I "upgraded" to 9.10
Now, after reboot, I see my old Desktop, but now there is no
desktop tool bar.
Without the toolbar, I have no access to System->administration
or System->appearance, both of which are a big pain.
Even launching firefox or an xterm is a bit of a project.
I have one voice that tells me to back everything up and install Fedora
or OpenSuse. Both of which I've used in the past, without this
kind of hassle.
But I also have another voice that says: "Be patient and fix this."
However, I don't know how.
How do I restore my gnome Desktop toolbar?
(this may be related to installing a gimp "ufraw plugin" that required various changes to gtk+-2.0
Did that maybe 20 minutes prior to upgrading to 9.10)
