I came across this blog yesterday (link (http://ubuntard.com/2009/11/choosing-an-os-is-not-a-team-sport/)), and I think it makes some pretty good points.
Keep in mind that if you go through his previous postings, you'll find this post (http://ubuntard.com/2009/11/ricing-up-karmic-koala/), which is a satire, and you should not run commands it provides.
This isn't about Linux versus Windows or $OTHER_OS, just how Linux advocacy should be approached. Personally, a few of my friends and relatives run Linux, but that's solely because their usage patterns are very basic, and I was tired of removing malware from their Windows installs.
