Restall Ubuntu 9.10 over the same

Hi..

I was using Ubuntu 9.10 in my system... Now suddenly it is crashed..Can I reinstall the same 9.10 over it without missing any of my data

First let's find out why it "crashed". What exactly happened, and what were you doing at the time? Have you just updated and now can't boot to the desktop?

Tell more and it may be possible to sort out the problem without re-installing and risking loss of data. If you really want to start again, use a live CD with an external disk to backup all your data, then just install, but at the disk partitioning part, choose to "set your own partitions manually" and re-use the same partitions you used last time.
