I was wondering what everybody else thinks is the best linux torrent program. I've grown tired of transmission and want to use something new. I've heard deluge is good, any good info on features for this client would be great. Also if you can include details and to why you use your preferred client that would be much appreciated! :D

You are out of luck, cause Transmission is the best.;)

For me it's a tie between Deluge (GTK) and Ktorrent (KDE/Qt). Choose the one that uses your preferred toolit (GTK or Qt). Why? Both have very similar features and interfaces to to almighty Utorrent.

I'm a fan of ktorrent myself. I like its interface and how it shows me a lot of information at once. I'm planning to learn how to use rtorrent some time too though since cli apps are just that litlle bit cooler. :)

I use ktorrent, it does all I need it to do while being relatively light.

But you can't use utorrent on linux.

Yes, you can. It's Wine-compatible. The official site even mentions it.

Transmission is awful.

Miro is too, but at least you get a lot of functionality in one elementary program.

Deluge is tolerable.

KTorrent is better.

Vuze is too bloated.

nothing can compare to utorrent in windows.

transmission, while being ok, refuse to implement some important inportant feature (like rss) and slow to implement some other.

miro is also ok, except the whole program can be a memory hog.

deluge is ok, but i find it unnecessarily complicated.

There is no best torrent program, only a preference to what you want to use.

After using and being accustomed to utorrent for quite awhile, I most prefer Deluge: it has the look and feel of utorrent and many of the same features.

P.S. And Deluge is fast :)

My personal favorite is Qbittorrent (http://qbittorrent.sourceforge.net/). Version 2.0 is currently in beta. They have just updated the screenshot section (http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=163414) with Version 2.0 screenshots.

I personal use qBittorrent (http://qbittorrent.sourceforge.net/) as my default torrent client why because qBittorrent (http://qbittorrent.sourceforge.net/) is an attempt to provide a µtorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/) equivalent on Linux.

FDM [Free Download Manager] is the best choice if you are using WINE.

+1 for utorrent here, but I wont install until there is a native install for linux, if this never happens, then I will continue to use deluge, which I love also :D
