im using songbird right now. and i love it
i love the simple interface like itunes.
however! i have 25000+ songs and counting
and it kinda lags it and crashes
is there a way to make it less laggy without taking out the songs?
or is there another music player that can handle all those songs?

ps. i know itunes can. i had it on windows which ran smoothly
pss can i get itunes on ubuntu?

I don't know if there is a way to make it less laggy
but rhythmbox is nice and getting itunes to work on
ubuntu is almost impossible.I installed itunes on a
friends ubuntu pc but i had to use a older version
to get it to work. There is a few options to managing
music on a ipod gtkpod (http://www.gtkpod.org/about.html) is one and hipo (http://projects.gnome.org/hipo/) management tool
is another.I don't know if you can download music using
these or not.

you have a half dozen media player options with ubuntu, all for $0.00, and all will leave zero garbage behind if uninstalled.

install and try them all, see which you like best. no one here can answer that for you, because linux is all about you.
