Don't tell me that I'm the only hunter in the entire forums.

Surely someone else here hunts.

You go to the woods and harvest deer for meat to keep them from over populating areas and keep the remaining herd strong by thinning the overall numbers competing for the limited resources.

Basically, camping with your redneck backwoods friends. With guns.

Besides, sitting around the camp fire and relaxing for four to five days is good for the mind.

This trip we built many large fires and killed several beers and bottles of whiskey.

Sometimes it is closer to Beer Camp than Deer Camp.

I used to love hunting, I still go to the range regularly to keep up on my marksmanship, but I hardly ever have time to go to the woods anymore.

It is fun.

Yes - that is my fat **** in the photo at the 2009 Deer Camp in a remote location near the Kiamichi Mountains in Southeastern Oklahoma.

That is probably my beer on the log there, also. :)

No, this is the time to cook on the open flame.

We had steak, potatoes, ribs, camp beans with cole slaw and bread.

Breakfast was sausage, bacon, eggs, toast and home made country jam.

Don't get the guns too close to the flame because the ammo will start going off by itself.

Explain THAT to the Game Warden.

You'd be surprised how un-dangerous this is. Small arms ammo is class 1.4S, "S" for "safety". That's defined as not presenting a serious explosive danger, and normally contained within it's own packaging. Basically they just go "pop" and rupture through the weak case wall. The worst you'll get is flecks of hot brass and unburnt powder on you.

Very easily. It's a nice sunny day here, making for good visibility for the hunt.
