View Full Version : [all variants] Howto: Fix Performance of ATI Drivers with Compiz on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

I wrote this howto after finally finding a fix the the crappy ATI proprietary driver performance, mainly the slow maximizing and resizing of windows. Now I'm not sure if it'll work for everyone, but it worked for me and many others. What it basically does is patches your xserver-common and xserver-xorg-core and does something to something called backfill.

Hi,
I used this the other day and it worked great. I have reinstalled Ubuntu and tried to load the page again but i think the server is down or something. Can u guys tell me what source i need to add to my list please. Thanks
